Hunters Lodge

Sleeps 3 + cot

As you approach the house the majestic scotch pines guide you to Hunters Lodge. Then from the top floor of the annexe you wonder if it could be Tuscany, however it is one of England’s most beautiful protected landscapes. Your gaze passes over miles of woodlands and fields into the distance. Though of easy access, Hunters Lodge is on a small private roadway almost free of traffic except for a few passing horses.

The entrance to your accommodation is separate and private to the main house. The rooms are spacious with wooden floors and high ceilings. It has a warm atmosphere which is full of ambience. Enjoy, during the day, losing yourself in the myriad of winding lanes and at night settling down by a roaring log fire.

The Retreat is located on the edge of the Forest of Dean- a short riverside walk away from Tintern and it’s famous Abbey. For a small village there are several options for eating. A “real pub” in Brockweir, the Village Shop/cafe for your supplies (staffed by the volunteers of the community), and in Tintern another café, all within walking distance. George and Rebecca are both painters. They enjoy speaking about art and offer tuition if requested. This is an ideal place for painting, taking walks, or just relaxing with a book.
